The Utility Group only had 3 breeds entered, Akitas, Boston Terrier, and Miniature Schnauzer.
The group was won by the Miniature Schnauzer, and also the Reserve Group placing. Both of these Miniature Schnauzers are imported dogs. This placing meant that, in the judge’s opinion, on the day of the show, the reserve best of breed Schnauzer was of better show quality than the best Akita and also the Boston Terrier.
The Working Group was won by an imported Rottweiler and the Reserve was won by a locally bred Boxer.
The other breeds in the ring on that day were Bouvier Des Flandres, Bullmastiff, Dobermann, German Shepherd, Dogues des Bordeaux. This group was a mix of imported and locally bred dogs.
The Gundog group only had 3 breeds in it.
The group was won by the Labrador Retriever and the Reserve was won by a Golden Retriever who is a Minor Puppy, approx. 7 months old and who also won Best Puppy in Show. Of interest, the Group Winner, the Labrador Retriever will be 8 years old this year.
The other breed in the Gundog Group was the Flatcoated Retriever.
All were imported dogs.
Just shows that you can’t be too old or too young to win once you have the quality 🙂
The Hound Group was won by a Rhodesian Ridgeback and the Reserve Group winner was also a Rhodesian Ridgeback. The other breed in the Group was the Beagle. The winners were imported dogs.
The only breed in the Toy Group is the Papillon so it is an automatic winner when it is entered 🙂
The other group was the Terrier Group and not only did it only have one breed in it, it only had one entry, a Bull Terrier, which was then an automatic winner. If I get a pix. of the Terrier, it will be posted here.
