Mature Rottweiler

Two young Rottweilers
You cannot always successfully predict the numbers of the breeds entered for a dog show from what you see at handling classes but I suspect that this show may have a low German Shepherd dogs entry in comparison to years ago when the breed here was so powerful it could put on its own breed show.
Maybe it is time for the Rottweiler guys to form a Rottweiler Club and put on a breed show. That way they could bring in a specialist judge for their breed. In shows abroad, there are usually a large number of Rotts. to be judged as the breed is a common one as well as popular.

A couple of Dobermanns were there and shows here of late have had no Dobes or very few entered.
Other than those above and the Bull Mastiffs, the Working Group breeds will probably have no more than 3 entries each in the other breeds.
When Steve Hall judged in Barbados 6 years ago there were 2 magnificent looking Akitas at the show, one was a UK Champion of Melodor breeding and the other an American Champion of Redwitch breeding and there were at least 17 Akitas entered. I doubt this show will see as many as 7 Akitas in the ring as at recent shows there have been very few Akita entries.
Here are 2 cuties and no they will not be judged in the puppy classes – they are Miniature Schnauzers. 🙂
