Now that The Kennel Club, UK, has published with its UK judges’ list online, what breeds and groups the judges are approved to judge in the UK, I think it is appropriate for local show exhibitors and people interested in our shows to see what those approved breeds and groups are when these judges come here for a judging assignment.

As there are no longer any active breed clubs in Barbados, these overseas judges are selected and invited to come here to judge by The Barbados Kennel Club.

Our March 18th show had 21 breeds, the 6 of our breeds which she is approved to judge and award Challenge Certificates to in the UK are as follows: Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, Flatcoated Retriever, Irish Setter, Dachshunds, Bouvier Des Flandres.

Barbados shows have 6 groups, the Toy, Terrier, Hound, Gundog, Utility and the Working Group. (We do not have a Pastoral Group and German Shepherds fall under the Working Group.)

This judge is approved to judge the Gundog Group and is known for her love of this group.

At this show, she awarded Best in Show to a Rottweiler (imported) and from the Working Group. Reserve Best in Show she awarded to an imported Japanese Shiba Inu from the Utility Group. Her Best Locally Bred in show was a Golden Retriever, her Best Puppy in Show was an imported Labrador Retriever, both from the Gundog group, with the best locally bred puppy going to a Rottweiler from the Working Group.

Below is her critique with some photos, compliments from my friend Franz Phillips:
