In watching the groups, I was looking for either the Hungarian Vizsla to go Best in Show or the Pharoah Hound.

The Vizsla came through with a flawless performance. He has already won 18 Best in Shows at all breed shows in the UK, several groups and reserves. He will be eight years old in December this year and moves so beautifully, you would never guess his age 🙂

“Yogi”, the Vizsla was born in Australia and came to the UK from Australia at age four. He holds the record for Best in Show wins in all breeds shows in the UK and he has 63 CCs. Last year he won the Gundog Group at Crufts. I guess he has done it all in the show ring of the dog world.

With the Pet Passport scheme, dogs are coming from as far away as Russia to compete. Crufts’ runner up was the Scottish Terrier who travelled from Russia to the UK for Crufts. The Pharoah Hound came from Finland.

There were 186 pedigree breeds competing this year from the 7 groups and there would have been close to 22,000 dogs in the competiton for the Best in Show trophy.
