Shane and a Chow Chow dog

Shane in the Bahamas

Shane lives in the Bahamas and provided the above photo of himself and his Chow Chow at a show in the Bahamas.

He also provided the below link so we could see what one of their shows is like.

Thanks Shane, and also for the great post in response to mine “A dog show critique in Barbados”.

It’s great to see the Bahamas having conformation shows at a high standard. I’ve enjoyed seeing the breeds here, that we do not currently have in Barbados; but i wonder with the size of the ring how well can a dog develop it’s gait.

That was an on going issue for the Club for quite sometime now. Generally it affects larger breeds, however, small to medium breeds tend to not be affected by this issue. Seeing that the Club has recognized this, they are highly considering changing the venue, to a larger area. Not sure on where it is going to be, but I am praying that it is indoors next time. That March heat can be a torture under that tent, so I am praying for air conditioning.

Oh I see! I’m glad their being proactive about it, I was wondering though how often do you have shows, and is the a website for your club?

Unfortunatly, not as much as I would like. There is one club gthat hold Conformation events along with Rally and Obedience. They host 2 annaul shows (back to back).

However, the Obedience fans have it better than us who are addicted to conformation. You have 2 other clubs that host Obedience, Rally and Agility trials.

However, several years ago I heard that someone was spoose to be moving to Grand Bahama to start their own club. Although I am not to sure whatwas the clubb’s intention (whether conformation or Companian Events).
