Barbados Dog training reaches a new height.

At The B’dos. Dog Training Club’s trials held at Waterford in November, the results were as follows:

First time ever in Barbados a dog has achieved the Utility (UD) title.

Sarah and Mac with the Utility dog training title in Barbados

Sarah Hamilton is the first person in Barbados to achieve the Utility title with her Rhodesian Ridgeback

A huge training achievement for the dog, Ch.Crownridge Red Regent(AI), C.D. C.D.X. UD a six year old male Rhodesian Ridgeback, and his owner, breeder, trainer and handler, Sarah Hamilton.

This title takes the handler and dog to the highest level of training concentration. The dog is off leash for the total duration of the trials.

The exercises consist of a complex series of signal exercises, scent discrimination, directed retrieve, a moving stand, and directed jumping. The dog must pass all exercises with a total score of 170 or above, on three occasions, under at least 2 different judges.

“Mac” and Sarah achieved a score of 195.5 in the final leg of their trials. The passmark is 170/200.

Achieving the final leg of the CD title at the trials was “Lily” a Golden Retriever owned and handled by Angela Barnett. “Lily” was also first and high in this CD trial.

Congratulations to those who achieved their titles and also those who competed and achieved legs towards their titles. Better luck next time to those who did not achieve their passing scores.

Unfortunate for those of us who have had bitches go in season or in a false pregnancy after the season and so missed the trials.

Share and Enjoy !
